A voice as powerful as it is refined — from Mozart's Leporello to Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony, Schubert's Winterreise to the Great American Songbook.
IIAbout

Chris Vale — a South African baritone of exceptional talent and refined taste — has spent his career crafting a voice that delights the senses and commands attention.
With a BMus cum laude from the University of Pretoria and accolades including the Mimi Coertse Bursary, Chris's early promise was no fleeting thing. His first foray into opera in 2007 as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte set the tone for a career marked by versatility and charm — from the bohemian Schaunard in La Bohème to the witty Leporello in Don Giovanni.
Not one to be confined to opera, Chris ventures into musical theatre as a suave Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady and serves as musical director for productions like Fiddler on the Roof and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat — equally at home commanding both stage and score.
Recent seasons have seen Schubert's Winterreise, the baritone role in Vaughan Williams's A Sea Symphony under Maestro Richard Cock, and Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem — further affirming his mastery of the great classical works. As a core member of Vox Chamber Choir, he contributes as both soloist and vocal coach for the male voices.
“A paragon of vocal artistry, captivating audiences with a voice that is as powerful as it is refined, and a presence that commands the stage in any genre he chooses to grace.”
